Bannerman's, Edinburgh 08/03/2018
Making his Bannerman's debut Stoney Broke took to the stage on a chilly March evening in Edinburgh as support to Wille And The Bandits. Just over a year since last sharing the stage, Stoney Broke provided the perfect compliment to WATB outstanding blend of Blues, Roots and Rock.
At 8pm Stoney Broke took to the stage with standard set opener "Intro" before launching into "Sticky Situation". Fan favourite "Too Late" kept the momentum going before a brief pause to introduce EP opener "Castles". Foot stomping "Back Yard" took the set past the halfway mark with the audience stomping along to the beat.
The set swung into blues and soul soaked "Got It", before "False Alarm" and riff heavy "Nothin' But The Truth" showcased Stoney Broke's technical ability and bringing an end to a breathless opening 30 minutes.
Wille and The Bandits have earned the reputation of being the UK's premier rock/roots act, and are widely regarded as one of the best live acts in the UK.
Currently on a UK tour to support brand new, double CD, live album "Living Free", the band showcased tracks including "Gypsy Woman", "Bad News", "Mammon" and hauntingly beautiful "Angel", before an encore of "1970" to send the packed venue home happy.
Be sure to check WATB on their current tour at venues across the UK, and upcoming European tour, "Living Free" is only available at live shows.
